The weather was kind for this year’s show. Wednesday night had been very wet but had passed by Thursday morning although for 10mins umbrellas were needed.

There were some strong classes put forward in front of judge David Alexander with some variation to pick through. Classes saw entries of 10 to 12 with a dedicated audience around the ring at all times.
Neil & Debbie McGowan (flock 894) were awarded the championship for the second year running with their two shear ram Incheoch Legend, he is by a homebred ram which was sold last year for 2000gns.
In reserve was John Kingan’s (flock 1615) champion female, the homebred shearling ewe. The reserve champion female also came from the shearling ewe class for Neil & Debbie McGowan. The reserve champion male was the McGowan’s other two shear ram.
The ewe class was won by Mrs Pamela Ritchie (flock 1092). The shearling ram class went to Bryan Walling of Farmstock Genetics (flock 983).
The Society once again had a stand in the N.S.A marquee to promote the breed and autumn sales. There was interest shown over all four days. The ewe and twins was very kindly supplied by Mr William Goldie, flock 1496. The N.S.A had revised the layout which included a stage to run the “Campaign for Wool” to help encourage people through. The stage included a demonstration of felt making by Jennifer Alexander where Lleyn wool was used.
