Lleyn Sheep Society Sale at Thainstone Mart

At the Annual show and sale of Lleyn sheep in conjunction with the Lleyn Sheep Society Ltd judged by Mark Donald, Rhynaclach, Port of Menteith, Stirlingshire. The Champion male was a Shearling from Arwick, Evie and sold for 700gns. The Champion pen of females a pen of Gimmers from Nether Toucks, Stonehaven sold for £150.

Gimmers (132) averaged £138.50 (+£5.83 on the year) and sold to £205 a pen of 5 from Blackpots, Auchnagatt.

Ewe lambs (15) sold to £92 for a pen of 5 from Nether Toucks, Dunnottar.

Rams (8) averaged £405.45 (+£12.05 on the year) and sold to 700gn for the Champion from Arwick, Evie.

Top prices

Gimmers: Blackpots £160; Anniston, Inverbervie £160; Blackpots £155: Nether Toucks £150.

Ewe lambs: Nether Toucks £90, Nether Coullie, Kemnay £88.

Rams: Arwick 500gns; Blackpots 460gns; Nether Toucks, Arwick 300gns; Woodlands, Dyce 280gns.
