NSA South West Sheep 2011

Paington, Devon

Wednesday 14 th June 2011

The event was held at Stantor Barton Farm, Marldon, Paignton by kind invitation of Frank, Andrew & Sarah Palk.

The sunshine did not keep the crowds away. The gates opened at 10am and the attendance on the Lleyn stand was very good with a heavy crowd throughout the morning and then a steady but consistent interest shown all afternoon.

There was much interest shown in crossing, with increased interest shown in the Lleyn x Dorset . Again this was shown with Lleyn x Polled Dorsets on the Polled Dorset Society stand. There was also other Lleyn crosses present on several of the other stands. A main factor for the crossing seemed to be the need to lamb earlier then further North with many lambing December through to February, and then the desire to have the lambs away by the end of May.

Many people took part in the Society Hamper competition and many put their names down for sales catalogues.
