Lleyn Sheep Society Sale at Thainstone held on Wednesday 10th September 2008
Mrs Debbie McGowan of Incheoch Farm, Alyth, judged the second Annual show and sale of Lleyn sheep in conjunction with the Lleyn Sheep Society. The Champion male was a shearling ram from Mr. R. Johnston, Bensfield Farm, Falkirk, which later topped the market when sold to S. & C. Bichen South Coldstream, Drumoak for 420gn.
The Champion pen of females went to James Goldie, Townfoot, Dumfries and was purchased by A. Irvine, Newton of Cairnie, Huntly for £118.
In total 278 Lleyn breeding sheep were sold.

Shearlings averaged £87.22 (-£1.76 on the year) to £118 for the pen of female Champions from J. Goldie. Ewe lambs averaged £59.43 (+£6.61 on the year) to £63 for a pen of 15 lambs from J. Riddell & Co. Rams averaged £298.67 (+£42.00 on the year) to 420gn for the Champion from R. Johnston.
