Overview

An online competition to showcase your flock at national level.  The overall champion will be announced at the 2022 AGM Weekend.

The benefit of participating will allow you to showcase your flock and the Lleyn breed via the Society website.  A page will be set up for each participant consisting of the requested photos and video plus flock information.

If sufficient entries are received, at the Society’s discretion they may be split into size classes (e.g. small flock, medium flock and/or large flock).

To participate you must supply the following:

1. One to three photo(s) demonstrating an example of your Stock Ram(s), please supply, age(s)

2. One to three photo(s) demonstrating an example of your ewes, please supply ages

3. One to three photo(s) demonstrating an example of your shearling ewes

4. One to three photo(s)demonstrating an example of your ewe lambs

5. Video, no more than 60 seconds demonstrating your farm.  Commentary and/or subtitles can be used to provide the judges with information, such as:

• Land type and farming system
• Size of farm and flock, note other species and/or breeds that run alongside
• Aim of flock – what are your breeding targets?  What is your end market?

6. Complete an entry form with your answers displayed on the page with your photos.

Rules

1. The aim is to provide fun competition for members whilst promoting Lleyn sheep
2. You must be a fully paid-up member of the Lleyn Sheep Society to enter
3. Each competitor will have a webpage set up with their entry displayed.  Your name, flock number and other information supplied will be displayed.
4. Photos must showcase the animals only.  No people are to be included
5. The video can include the breeder if necessary.
6. The video and photo must include only animals that you own in your flock.
7. One entry per flock
8. Entry is FREE
9. Normal Society rules regards no colouring or trimming apply.  Breed Characteristics are to be obeyed, see page 95 in the 2022 handbook.
10. Photo & video entries are to be emailed to promtoions@lleynsheep.co by Wednesday 31^st August.  Your entry must include your name and Society flock number.  The entry form is to be completed online.
11. The results will be announced at the AGM weekend.
12. The judges’ decision will be final.
