Lleyn Sheep Society Sale - NSA Builth Wells 2018

There was a good crowd around the Lleyn ring although buyers had distinct budgets in mind hence many rams could be bought from 300 -450gns.  It had been noted that the longevity of the Lleyn ram means that buyers are making do in these uncertain times hence they are not purchasing unnecessarily, and they are ‘making do’ with the older rams at home if they can for this year.

The highlight of the sale saw D Steen, Moffat sell a Ballylinney shearling ram (00809/1700066) sired by a Ballylinney sire for 2000gns to Lionel Organ, Carmarthen.  Next E & D Jones, Machynlleth sold a Lluest shearling ram (00599/1708898), sired by Lochar Cossity for 1700gns to C Price, Brecon.  The same vendor sold another Lluest shearling ram (00599/1708553) sired by Wraycastle Emmanuel for 1150gns to G & A Fort, West Yorkshire.

The first prize ram from Robert Bennett, Meifod, Plasucha Genuine Mastercard (00893/1606541), sired by Plasucha Dependable sold for 700gns to A Cooper Dorchester.  The same purchaser bought the second prized ram from G & A Fort, Brightonhouse Golden Fire (01299/1713900) sired by Brightonhouse Emperor.  He realised 650gns.
