Annual Show & Sale at Brecon Mart

Brecon saw a good clearance rate on the rams with a new centre record price.  E & D Jones, Machynlleth sold the first prize ram Lluest (00599/2011966) sired by Southam Gunner for 2000gns to joint purchasers L Organ, Llandysul & HM Wells, Ceredigion.  Messrs Jones sold their second ram Lluest (0599/2011812) sired by Wraycastle Edwaldo for 1350gns to S Lewis, Narbeth.  Lionel Organ sold Southam Jasper (00306/2002972) sired by Limelane Harry for 980gns to N Perkins, Church Stretton.

The senior ewes saw a positive trade with two year old ewes from C & R Bowen, Haverfordwest selling for £190/head to DC John and £188/head to Crymych and JC Mathias, Swansea.

With selective minds the buyers picked their shearling ewes.  HM Wells topped the section with their first prize pen selling for £210/head to S Lewis, Narbeth.  They sold another pen at £205/head to DC John, Crymych.  E & D Jones sold their third prize pen at £200/head to GG & HE Sevenoaks, Abergavenny.  JM Hopkin & Son, Swansea got a pen away to Twose Farms, Whitland at £198/head.

The ewe lambs were topped by the first prize winners from AW Davies, Pwllheli when selling for £152/head to A & B Golledge, Gloucester.  WJ & DJ Williams, Pwllheli sold for £135/head to D Thomas, Lampeter.  Twose Farms, Whitland sold a pen of eight at £130/head to CT Cresswell, Brecon.
