It was great to see many new faces alongside the regulars today with a busy ringside.
The shearling ewe section was topped by the first prize pen from sale regulars G & A Fort, Keighley. They sold for £205/head to P Pennington, Glossop. The same buyer paid £195/head for the third prize pen from AW Davies, Pwllheli. The first pen through the ring from M & S Etherton, Oxford sold for £180/head to Hagg Lane Farm, Selby. Hagg Farm also purchased the second prize pen from H & M Dugdale, Settle for £175/head.
Ewe lambs saw J Morton, Penrith top with a pen of 25 selling for £110/head to P Kirk, Middlesbrough. Mr Morton sold another pen of 16 at £100/head to GM & J Robinson, Fellbeck. Messrs Robinson also took home the second prize pen from WJ & DJ Williams, Pwllheli for £110/head. T & B Fort, Keighley sold a pen at £100/head to I & S Clough, Pickering.
Rams saw a solid trade with only three returning home. E & D Jones, Machynlleth sold a Lluest Ram (00599/2110824) sired by a Whitcastles ram and had not been shown for 1200gns to Simon Kavanagh, Skipton. P Knowles, Kendal sold Cragg Kingpin (00886/2106228) sired by Whitlaw Flyer for 820gns to C & SD Leckonby, Pockley. T & B Fort sold Brightonhouse Kori (01299/2125717) sired by Goldies Inspiration for 750gns to D & SK Crane, Thirsk. The first prize ram from JA & R Geldard, Kendal, a Wraycastle Ram (00621/2121131) sold for 600gns to Simon Kavanagh.
