A strong demand for Lleyn breeding rams saw both pedigree and commercial buyers having to bid up to secure their purchases reaching a clearance of 92% with more than a quarter of the rams sold reaching prices of 800gns or over. A good crowd had gathered around the selling ring for the Society sale run in conjunction with the NSA Wales & Borders Ram Sales with both new and familiar faces.

Top price of the day of came from JA & R Geldard, who had travelled down to the sale from Kendal, Cumbria. Their Wray Castle ram (00621/2528355) sired by Southam Jester reached 1650gns and was knocked down to fellow breeders Penrice Castles Estate, Swansea. Another ram from the same home Wray Castle (00621/2528278) sired by Netherton He Man, was sold for 1500gns to S Kavanagh, Skipton to join his Eldwick flock. The third top price of the day again came from the Geldard family with Wray Castle ram (00621/2528443) sired by a Ballylinney ram and was sold at 1250gns.

The Champion ram of the day Bronallt Owain (00050/2510107) from A W Davies was sold for 850gns to fellow North Wales breeder the Jones family of the Rhos-y-Madoc and Pentre flocks.

The reserve Champion ram Celt (02339/2503111) from DT Jones, also sold for 850gns.
