2026 Royal HIGHLAND SHOW

The Lleyn section at the Royal Highland Show once again delivered an exceptional showcase of the breed, with exhibitors presenting sheep of outstanding quality and consistency! The standard across all classes was praised highly, reflecting the dedication and stockmanship of breeders from across Scotland and North of England who were exhibiting this year. With spectarors travelling far and wide to the see this year's judging it was a pleaseure to see all classes well supported and the Shearling ewe class was sight to see with 13 entries forward in the ring for our judge Mr Barry Latimer where he found his Champion of the day.

There was a positive atmosphere and buzz around the ring from supports, fellow breeders and friends. A credit must go to all 6 exhibitors who had travelled to this year's show abd put forward a first‑class display and to once again demonstrate the strength and versatility that continue to drive the Lleyn ewe's popularity.

The Society would like to extend its thanks to all exhibitors for their commitment and to the Scottish & Borders Lleyn Sheep Breeders Club for their continued support and warm welcome at this years show. It was great to see such a showcase of the breed at this years event and we hope to see more exhibitors enter their Lleyn sheep in the future! A special mention must got o Wayne Hutchington who was present on the day to take our Championship photography.

The Society would also like to thank the 2026 judge, Mr Barry Latimer who had travelled over from Norther Ireland to Edinburgh to undertake the challenging task of placing the classes.
